Alumni Question & Answer
Q
What interested you in a tech career?
A
I wanted to embark on a new career that is always in high demand, and ever-evolving while also being compensated well. Tech checked all of those boxes for me, so it was like a no-brainer.
Q
Why did you choose NuPaths?
A
I liked that the program was instructor-led, as it still felt like being in a classroom, which suits me since I’m more of an in-person learner. It was also helpful to know that there was someone available to assist me virtually. Additionally, I appreciated that NuPaths provides college credits.
This means that if I decide to go back to school for a degree in IT, I can. At the same time, while earning those college credits, I was also preparing for certifications. For just six months of work, I felt like I was able to accomplish a lot because so much was incorporated into the program.
Q
How was your experience with NuPaths?
A
My experience with NuPaths was a great one. I would honestly recommend it to anyone who's trying to get started in tech but isn't sure how to go about it or wants some guidance because that's the position that I was in. The instructors have at least a certification experience in the field or a combination of both.
So, they prepare you to be successful in the I.T. field. I believe my schooling with NuPaths helped me land my first job in tech. After graduating from the I.T. Security Analyst cohort, I posted on LinkedIn about my experience. A company reached out to me and I prepared for a cybersecurity analyst role, so I was offered the job.
I believe that NuPaths played a significant role in that.
Q
How can students get the best experience at NuPaths?
A
The best advice I can give is to complete the program. Also, always keep your goals in the forefront of your mind, and remember anything worth having. It's not going to be easy, otherwise, everyone will be doing it.
