Mechanicsburg and East Pennsboro High Schools have partnered with Harrisburg University and NuPaths to offer the Foundations in Information Technology course at Mechanicsburg High School for select students.
Foundations in Information Technology Course at Mechanicsburg HS
CompTIA Foundations in IT Certification | 2 college credits
The course will run from September - December 2024 with classes every day from 1:30 – 2:45 PM. You can earn the CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification and 2 college credits as well as credits toward high school graduation.
Location: Mechanicsburg High School, Mechanicsburg, PA
Eligible Students and Schools: Seniors and juniors at Mechanicsburg and East Pennsboro high schools
Schedule: 1:30 - 2:45 PM, every day from September - December 2024.
The course focuses on the basics of computer hardware, software, mobile computing, networking, troubleshooting, and emerging technologies. Students learn a fundamental understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, computer application software, databases, networking technologies and protocols, web browsers, identifying security risks, troubleshooting errors, and system maintenance. The course also includes an exploration of cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing and virtualization.
Complete the NuPaths application to register for the Foundations in Information Technology course at Mechanicsburg HS.
